Martial Arts: Females subduing men.

 Sorry for my belated response Carol. The text-size you used is so tiny and my vision so bad that I didn't see it until now.

     What you say is theoretically true. I learned that during my Pai Lum White Dragon Kung Fu training.  However, in an actual fight, many things  might be involved such as the athletic abilities of our opponent, like speed, agility, strength which we might be unaware of in addition to greater weight and size in comparison than ours. In such cases where the opponent is either equal or superior in those areas, one missed strike can quickly decide the issue in his or her favor. In short, it's a gamble that is best avoided if possible.


     I once saw this match between this 300 pound muscular shoot- fighter and a much lighter Black Belt Karate master. The shoot-fighter lunged at his midsection twice and received a downward elbow strike to the base of his neck which caused him to fall to the canvass writhing in agony. 

    The Karate master did not move in for the kill. So I assumed that he was either following some pre-agreed rules, or else was so confident that he would win, that he decided to let the 300 pound muscle-bound opponent to regain his feet.

     Well, that proved to be a very bad decision. The third time, the behemoth lunged in and evaded the downward strike to the back of the neck, and mangled one of the karate guy's legs. This reduced his mobility and made him go limping to his corner as the round ended. 

    Now, had he had any common sense, he would have admitted defeat.
But hoist on his own Petard, he limped back into the fracas, was easily  taken to the mat in a strangle hold, and even though he kept tapping out, the enraged behemoth continued the choke-hold for more than a minute. I never saw the fellow get up. Seemed he was dead to me.

    So yes, maybe in theory, the strike to the back of the neck should have broken it. But that was no ordinary neck and behemoth's extreme musculature seems to have prevented lt. So such assumption can sometimes backfire and if one can pepper spray an opponent in order to evade the danger, that would be a safer choice.
