How the French and Germans pronounce TH
As fiction writers, we might decide to have our protagonist or a supporting character, speaking English with either a German accent or a French accent. Now, the first thing we should do before attempting it, is to research just how these nationalities tend to pronounce certain English combinations of letters.
For example, how would we depict a German or a Frenchman pronouncing the English TH? Please note that if we depict a Frenchman pronouncing these two letters like a German or vise a versa, then the reader will be constantly distracted whenever our protagonist speaks in an accent that is not his or hers.
