They still don't acknowledge their stupidity!
First, I have absolutely nothing against dogs. I had one myself and memory of his antics are an integral part precious childhood recollections. So I am definitely not against dog-ownership. However, what I am against is a certain type of dog-owner stupidity that endangers newborns, younger children, themselves, and other adults because they fanatically assume that dogs are perfect and totally incapable of going suddenly berserk as some humans do. They fanatically hold on to that concept despite the recorded cases of hitherto calm and seemingly trustworthy dogs, suddenly going totally berserk and killing everyone in sight. So I post the videos as a reminder that such a viewpoint can lead to tragedy.
In each of the tragic cases in the videos below, where children and babies are killed suddenly and unexpectedly by a pet dog, there are expressions of bafflement and an effort to defend the dog. Even in the midst of grief, or in the presence of a compelling gruesome reality that dogs are as unpredictable as people, they refuse to acknowledge it.
Such irrationally fanatical persons are not just a danger to themselves and to neighbors, but to their own kids who sometimes pay with their lives for their parental stupidity.
But is there really a viable excuse for such imbecility? No, there is not. Ask any of these individuals whether they are familiar with the Caesar Milan program where maladjusted dogs need to undergo intensive behavioral therapy in order for them to behave properly, and they will say yes. In other words, they know that certain dogs are prone to develop psychological quirks just as humans do, and yet expose their newborns to their potentially-deadly jaws anyway.
