Fears of escalation mount amid Russian war in Ukraine
Seems like our very near future is suddenly in the hands of a war-crazy madman-doesn't it? The sad part is that this unstable individual still seems to be enjoying the enthusiastic support of people in positions of authority, such as generals and politicians, who will obediently do his bidding, regardless of how irrational or immoral that bidding might be.
Why? Well, obviously those supporters are are either as insane as this fellow is, or as equally under the control of Satanic forces as he is. Either way, it isn't a pleasant scenario. If indeed there are persons in positions of authority who disagree with this madman, they are obviously too afraid to confront him.
In fact, even the Russian population, who had once unanimously voted him into office, is afraid to remain in Russia and attempt to change things from within. Instead, it prefers to flee because it consider opposing the will of a deranged madman useless and extremely dangerous. Of course, if a nuclear war breaks out, that will not save them. They are aware of that. But at least that isn't as certain as the death that awaits them if they fight Putin's war.

In short, this war is not a popular one. It is perceived as one selfish man's grasping desperately for fame and glory at the cost of the lives of his people which he obviously considers expendable. The reasons he provides are not convincing, since no Russian in his right mind believes that Russia's security is at stake simply because of Ukrainian internal political affairs.
In fact, even if he manages to annex Ukrainian territories and provides the annexation with a thin veneer of legitimacy via a bogus voting of the population, Russians will only see it as a ruse to further expand the conflict, and will seek an escape at any means possible.

No, this does not prove Russian cowardice nor lack of patriotism. Russian people are not a cowardly people and proved that very convincingly during WWII when they bravely took on Hitler's armies and stubbornly sacrificed themselves for the sake of their homeland. However, the Russian people are not so stupid as to willingly and gladly sacrifice themselves for the aggrandizement of one man man's ambitions and that is definitely to their credit.
