Ingress and Egress
This is the best teacher of word-meanings that I have found on the Internet. He provides numerous examples of how the word might function as a noun, adjective, verb or adverb, delves deeply into word etymology, and patiently illustrates its usage by using the words in sentences.
Now, you might have noticed that these two words, egress and ingress, are not regularly used in daily conversations. However, if they are employed by a writer as part of a story, or perhaps by a public speaker under special circumstance, then it's good to know their meaning instead of blinking in confusion and feeling stupid because you haven't the faintest idea of what the person is talking about. Or perhaps mistaking the word egress for an exotic bird and asking the person who used it where its natural habitat is located.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
