Well, obviously it helps in our efforts to control our blood sugar levels. But I found that focusing on specific healthful foods helps me to shop more efficiently instead of wandering around at the food market trying to remember which ones are the acceptable foods and which should be avoided. So having these specific foods in one specific location is very helpful. No, of course we are not going to live forever no matter the diet that we employ. There is no fountain of youth or elixir that guarantees immortality.
However, a diet can make a tremendous difference in reference to our health. After all, who wants to suffer amputations of limbs, heart attacks or strokes along with the host of other symptoms that are associated with this insidiously progressive metabolic disease related to diabetes simply because we could not restrict our food cravings?
There is also the annoying possibility of having to be required to thrust a hypodermic needle into your body each day just to be able to eat anything sweet. Those are unacceptably very high prices to pay for the enjoyment of a momentary gustatory pleasure. So in this, case preventive maintenance via placing ourselves on a healthful diet can protect us, and at least reduce the probability of a very unpleasant near future or even a sudden death.
