Do Latinos in USA believe in Learning English?
There is a very popular misconception among certain Americans that Latinos don't believe that English should be learned while one lives in the USA. No, they don't research the idea because then they might get their pet peeve taken away, and they enjoy fuming against Latinos and feeling that they should not be here. So they say that they don't know the statistics but based on some personal experiences, they prefer to conclude that such is the case. However, a brief use of a search engine is all that is needed in order to show that reality doesn't quite harmonize with their bigotry.
By overwhelming margins, Latinos say it is very important that English be taught to children of immigrant families, according to the Pew Hispanic Center/Kaiser Family Foundation National Survey of Latinos: Education. Hispanics hold stronger views than either non-Hispanic whites or blacks (92%, 87% and 83% respectively).
