Today the predator prey struggle so prevalent in nature might seem normal. But the Bible doesn't describe it that way. The Bible tells us that prior to the Flood God had provided only vegetation as food for all his living creatures.
After the Flood, Mankind was granted the right to eat animal flesh. But there was a restriction on eating blood.
The question is why was blood excluded?
=========================================================================
1. Respect for life: In the Bible, Blood is used to represent life.
2. Prevent Animal Suffering: Eating an animal while it was still alive causes it unnecessary suffering.
3. Health Reasons: Blood could carry diseases such as Salmonella, Trichinosis, Disteria. These involved a lot of suffering and could sometimes lead to miscarriages in pregnant women and in the death of the eater.

4. Promotion of Respect for Sacrificial blood offerings:
The Mosaic Law included the offering of blood sacrifices for sin. Thee rituals involving the high priest was a prophetic shadows of things that were to be fulfilled for the redemption of mankind. Jesus blood was represented by the blood offered in the Temple’s most holy r forgiveness of sin. Allowing humans to consume such blood would trivialize this very important prophetic symbol. The apostle Paul explains it in the following way:
5. Avoid stumbling Jewish Christians who might still be sensitive.
Gentile Christians were never under the Law of Moses but were under the Noachian Law since it was given to all mankind. But adherence to Law is not what provides a Christian with the right to salvation. Only the shedding of Jesus’s precious blood as a sacrifice for our sins does.
Feeling ourselves to be under strict obligation to law in order to attain life goes completely contrary to why Jesus died for us.
Genesis 1:29
Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. They will be yours for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and every bird of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth--everything that has the breath of life in it--I have given every green plant for food." And it was so.

Genesis 9:…3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you; just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you all things. 4 But you must not eat meat with its lifeblood still in it"

Reasons why Eating Blood was Prohibited
1. Respect for life: In the Bible, Blood is used to represent life.
Leviticus 17:11 NIV
For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life.
Gen 4:10 And the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I do not know!” he answered. “Am I my brother’s keeper?” 10“What have you done?” replied the LORD. “The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.

Hebrews 9:11
But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not of this creation.
Hebrews 10:4
because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and of goats to take away
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace … (Ephesians 1:7, ESV)
With his own blood — not the blood of goats and calves — he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever. (Hebrews 9:12, NLT)

"But as for the Gentiles who have believed, we have sent a letter with our judgment that they should abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled…" (Acts 21:25)
1Cor 8: 12 By sinning against your brothers in this way and wounding their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to stumble.
