Is Holy Spirit Guiding you Religious Organization?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------2 Pet 1:21
for prophecy was not ever uttered by the will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of the Holy Spirit.
Hoy Spirit
The holy spirit that Jesus promised to send his folowerrs doesn't say one thing now and then another which contradicts it a few years later. Does the religious organization you belong to claim to be guided by holy spirit but keeps contradicting itself?
John 16:13: However when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak.
John 14:26: But the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things.
… and he will show you things to come (John 16:13

This means that any organization claiming holy spirit guidence must preach teach and prophecy truth in order to prove it. If lies are taught instead, or if its prophecies or predictions prove false, then its claim to holy spirit guidence is false.
Yet, as strange as it might seem, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society claims holy spirit guidence despite the clear evidence which proves that their claim is false.
For example, they predicted that the end of the World would arrive in 1914. Did it? Abolutely not.
Then it was the year 1925. Did it? Absolutely not.
Then it was 1975. Did it? Absolutely not.
The founder, Pastor Russel, predicted the end to arrive during the late 1800's. Did it? Not at all.
They also predicted that the end of this world order would arrive before those who saw the events of 1914 all died. How old are those individuals right now? Those born in that year would have turned 100 in 2014 and would be be 106 years old right now in 2020.
Of course once that claim of God's guidence was pronounced, saving face became necessary. So seeing that their divine guidience claim was danger of being proven false, they modified it continuously in order to keep it going by redefining what the term "This Generation will not pass away untill all the things described there were fulfilled...." mentioned in Mathew chapter 24 really meant.
You see, If generation only referred to those who saw the events of 1914 with eyes of understanding, then that Generation, would gain a few more years before all its members died. So they tried that solution, but when this generation was getting too close to death for comfort, they finally threw up their hands, declared that idea to have been old light and came out with new light, or a totally different understanding.
Of course, the recently-baptised felt blessed to be receiving such new light. But those who had been members of the WTBTS for decades, who had faitghfully and obediently been presache the old light as indisputable truth to Bible students and other people they met, began feelling that something that someting was not quite right with all this.
Why? Simple, because in the Bible God is described as a God of truth who does not contradict himself, and his prophecies do not need to be modifed in that drastic way.
God of Truth
The Bible describes God as a God of truth.
John 17:17
"Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
Titus 1:2
in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,
Numbers 23:19
"God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
More disturbingly, such lies seem to indicate that the spirit that they claim is guiding them is one of deception. Such deception is typical of God's enemy Satan who is called the Father of the lie, and who accused God in Eden of being a liar. This impression should cause any Christian worth his salt to bolt for safety.
John 8:44 New International Version
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Yet, despite the clear evidence that it is ruining its own reputation, and instead of humbly recognizing that God is NOT guiding it, this organzation stubbornly continues to make such a claim.
In the process, millions who are unfamiliar with its historical record accept it at face-value, modify their lives in accordance with its predictions, and then live to regret it as they look around at an advanced age and start to realize that they have been duped.
This constant-change tendency applies to doctrinal matters that don't involve prophecy or predictions as well. For example, once their supposed holy spirit told them that it was OK to wear a cross and believe Jesus died on one. Then it changed its mind and told them that Jesus was impaled on a stake, and that the cross is a pagan symbol that should never be venerated nor worn.
Another time it revealed that Jesus did not grow a beard because beard growth was evidence of imperfection and Jesus was a perfect man. Because of this, all their literature depicted him clean-shaven. Then this spirit changed its mind and said that Jesus sported a beard because otherwise he would have been confused with a Roman.
Then it supposedly said that accepting organ transplants was a sin. Then it changed its mind and said it was a matter of conscience.
It once informed them that Christians would go to heaven. Then it changed its mind and declared that only 144,000 were and that the rest are a great crowd destined to live on Earth.
Once it taught that it was OK for all to partake of the Lord's Evening Meal. Then it instructed them to believe that only those with a heavenly hope were allowed.
Once it advised them in the Watchtower, their main doctrinal instruction magazine, not to treat those who fall by the wayside too severely. Then it admonished them to shun them mercilessly.
Once it strictly warned them not to particpate in politics via voting because it meant receiving the mark of the Wild Beast ,described in Revelation as representing Earthly governments, on the forehead. Now it declares it as merely a matter of conscience.
On and on it goes. Seems as if this spirit that they claim proceeds from the God of Truth is a bit confused.
Cunningly, in order to help its members accept this constant contradictions, they invented the terms old light and new light. Old light is supposedly the old understanding of doctrinal matters. New light is the new one.
A recent example involves the term Faithful and Dicreet Slave, a class of Christians to whom Christ supposedly placed in charge of spiritually feeding the other sheep, those with san Earthly hope, via teaching and guiding them. These were said to be the remnant still on Earth that remaine of the 14400 annointed destined to go to heavem.
Suddenly, and totally unexpectedly, members of the Governing Body in Brooklyn decided that it now only applies to them. One of them, who appeared on youtube, unashamedly and smuggly refered to it as a very good idea. Idea? Really?
No, this is not how an organization that is guided by God's Holy Spirit is supposed to function. Instead, this is how imperfect men who disagree with previous men, and so change the current accepted views function
Results of all this going back and forth? Many formerly sincere members leave heartbroken feeling betrayed, and that that they made a big mistake in believing claims which turned out to have been merely lies.
1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Matt 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
